Ebbie had a litter of beautiful boys!  All arrived safe & sound and are doing very well.
These pups have the bloodlines to be everything their ancestors are, good working dogs!

Now we're four weeks old and changing by the day!

Puppy #1 ~ Black Bi

   
Boy do puppies ever grow fast. Personalities are coming out. I can't quite figure out what the fascination with my pant legs are either....
I only know that I am glad I where them...sure hurts when they get flesh vs the pants.

Loch is starting to turn into a real nice looking pup. He is one of the fastest ones too. I have to watch him he darts out of the gate quicker than the other boys.

Puppy #2 ~ Blue Merle

This one I am calling TK today....Toby Keith-big man, big dog. :-) There is something about this boy that I really like...he reminds me of his sire Doc. Not sure what it is.

He sure is a little ham. :-) We wore all the puppies out last night. Tk was the last one to get one on one in the front room....and play with the "big dogs".
The other pups napped while he was out in the front room, he napped when I brought him. back. It is a lot of fun to watch them interact with the other dogs. Nothing seems to faze this boy right now.
I took down the whelping box and put up the puppy pen. While carrying the trays to the pen back one of them slipped by the gate. All the pups except TK scattered or yelped.,
He looked at me like "why are you making such a racket?" He was probably the only puppy who was watching me come down the hallway, which is one reason he didn't get as scared, I am sure.
 
He already thinks he has to protect me from the other dogs. He was laying in my lap and Dora jumped up to lay with us.
He nailed her on the nose, caused a sqeal which brought Ruby over....she in turn got in between the two pups and layed down so there was no more squabble.
Ruby is very good with the pups. When she plays with them she doesn't open her mouth. She uses her nose to push them around and play.
It is very interesting. I have never seen a dog as gentle as she is.

Puppy #3 ~ Blue Merle

I told Diamond that I wanted something besides him chewing on my pants, or my shoes, or my shirt sleves...he said ok and went to sleep. >sigh<
Not what I had in mind but he was cute are curled up.
He is the most reserved of the litter. Lissy calls him the "shy one". With me, he isn't but we spend much more time together.
He is constantly picking on me when I am in there with them.

He was pretty tired when I took the pics. The first one really shows his tired eyes...he was only half heartedly tugging.
He is in love with Mona. He gets loose, she is the one he seeks out. Mona doesn't mind. She likes all the puppies.

     
Puppy #4 ~ Blue Merle

Blue is the orney one of the litter. He is such a handful. Good thing he is going to an experienced home. He is becoming a little terror. "NO" means you try harder!
He also likes to pose for the camera. The last photo, I happened to snap right as he was getting ready to leap for me again.

You can see the "pounce" in his stance and eyes. He now picks squabbles with the other boys. He was the little guy of the litter and is quickly catching up.
He is also the only one with blue eyes...and I think both of them will stay blue. They are still pretty light. I will send some of him taking on the "big dogs' a little later.

   
Puppy #5 ~ Black Tri

Here is the last boy. I called him Ebenholz, which is German for Ebony. He reminds me the most of Ebbie in looks. He has turned out to be a black tri -vs- a black bi.
Last but not least...my surprise boy. He is the only one with copper. I originally named him after his mom and Now he doesn't remind me of her at all. He looks sweet but his nick name is "Devil Dog"...'cus looks are deceiving.
Update 24 December...we are now "Herkey". Alisa is getting him so he will have a nice working JR home. They are bonding nicely. He comes down here for food and sleeps up there. Well at least that is the plan!

You will think you have him distracted with a different toy and he still comes back to bite whatever was on his mind. He has a very long attention span for a 5 wk old puppy.
I am used to them being seconds...maybe a minute or two. His is closer to 5 minutes. He doesn't distract very easy.
