"Ice-T"

Ice-T is the blue boy that we didn’t have the first time around that my daughter wanted a pup and she was lucky enough to have three to choose from the second go around.  He was the first-born and the most difficult for mother Red. He arrived butt first and large.  He aspirated some in the birth canal so I had to help get him going.  Amanda and I were both a little worried for the first 24 hrs. but he soon started to thrive.

Now, Ice-T shows great promise in the area of herding.  He hits heels and heads.  He is our first Aussie that has tried to herd people. The girls just knew it was a “no-no” he still needs reminding.  I have been doing most of the work in the herding arena for he is too much dog at the moment for Amanda to handle.   Amanda would like to start him in agility over the winter.  She is hoping that she will get a better handle on him. 

Here are a couple of Ice-T. I am beginning to wonder if I will ever get something less than 125mph. A nice 90 mph is really starting to look good.. The speed and the amount of ground he covers is great with the large flock....but 3-5 goats or sheep, well now that is a bit much for all of us!

 Ice-T shows strong guardian instincts.  Especially where his young mistress is concerned. He does not appreciate strange dogs, or strange me, to approach her.  He gets in between and tells them to back off if they get to close.  When with me, he doesn’t show the same protectiveness.  Apparently, I am old enough, big enough to take care of myself!

 Overall he is a very happy dog.  Most always a tail wagging and a greeting for all.  He gets along with most dogs he has met.  His eyes were cleared at 8 wks and will continue yearly in August.
