Mona is a very talented young dog with high energy, high intensity, and high drive.  On  cattle she is just as comfortable on the heads as she is the heels.  I believe that she prefers the heel and has a nice low bite.  She works quietly with lots of push and drive.  With sheep we are still learning that you can not treat them like you do cattle.  So far she has been very gentle with the lambs and baby goats.  She really loves to work her ducks.  We have learned that ducks are not meant to be heeled, which makes me and the ducks happier.

When working she does drop her head and shoulders so all is level.  She has a tremendous amount of eye compared to my other Aussies.  We are currently learning to drive, which she is picking up quickly.

At the Nationals this year she had a pretty good showing.  The pretrial in the started class, we qualified in all three classes of stock with a second in ducks.  With some good scores in sheep and cattle.  The trial was almost as good.  Better in some ways.  We didn’t make it in sheep.  But, I did get some good pics from our short lived run.  Cattle was great!  We received 2nd place.  I was very proud of my lil’ red girl.  The judges wrote some very nice compliments about Miss Mona.  Which I always appreciate.  It was good to see that all the hard work that she and I have put in paid off.
